CAIR Pittsburgh Welcomes Frick Museum’s Apology for Postponement of Islamic Exhibit

(PITTSBURGH, PA, 11/10/2023) – The Pittsburgh chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Pittsburgh) today welcomed the public apology issued by Elizabeth Barker, the Executive Director of The Frick Museum.

This apology follows a constructive meeting between CAIR-Pittsburgh and The Frick fostering a positive dialogue that paves the way for a more inclusive exhibition and strengthened community ties.

In her statement, Barker recognized the pain caused by the lack of clear communication surrounding the postponement of the ‘Treasured Ornament’ exhibition. She expressed regret for the offensive impressions created and emphasized her commitment, as well as The Frick’s, to repairing damaged relationships and rebuilding trust.
