(WASHINGTON, D.C., 11/16/23) – Following a successful webinar last night designed to empower American Muslim community members to arrange congressional meetings addressing the ongoing Gaza crisis and urging Congress to call for an immediate ceasefire, CAIR is releasing its new “CAIR Community Toolkit: Requesting Congressional Meetings for Ceasefire Now in Gaza!”
The webinar drew engagement from over 400 dedicated Muslim community members committed to advocating for lasting change and peace in the region. Leveraging this enthusiasm, CAIR introduces this new community toolkit to aid as a comprehensive guide on congressional outreach and engagement. This toolkit equips individuals with essential tools to secure meetings with their House Representatives and Senators.
The toolkit’s strategic approach ensures effective navigation through the process, amplifying the community’s voice in the halls of Congress. It encompasses detailed instructions covering:
- Requesting Congressional Meetings
- Sending CAIR’s Template Meeting Request Message to Your U.S. Representative and Senators
- Tips on Meeting with Members of Congress and Congressional Staff
- Understanding Legislative Factsheets and How to Use CAIR’s Factsheet in Congressional Meetings
- CAIR Congressional Legislative Factsheet: Supporting H.Res. 786 – Ceasefire Now Resolution in Israel and Palestine
“Following our webinar’s success, CAIR is thrilled to share this invaluable resource with our community members. The toolkit empowers individuals to actively advocate for an immediate ceasefire and endorse Representative Cori Bush’s Ceasefire Now Resolution,” stated CAIR Government Affairs Department Director Robert S. McCaw.
Access the Community Toolkit and become an agent for change in the ongoing Gaza crisis. Your active participation in meeting with your members of Congress is pivotal in securing a ceasefire in Gaza and demanding urgent action from elected officials.
