The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned Israel’s unilateral offensive strikes on Iran and called on the Trump administration to immediately halt all U.S. weapons transfers and military aid to the Netanyahu government. The strikes mark a dangerous escalation in a year-long campaign of unrestrained violence that is dragging the region—and potentially the United States—into a wider war.
Israel’s latest airstrikes on Iran follow months of military operations in Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, as well as its continued genocide in Gaza, where more than 55,000 Palestinians have been killed, including tens of thousands of women and children.
In a statement issued after the attack, Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that Israel acted unilaterally and that the United States was not involved in the strikes.

In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“We condemn Israel’s offensive strike on Iran and the broader pattern of aggression it represents. Netanyahu is using American weapons and taxpayer dollars to launch illegal and destabilizing wars across the region. President Trump must act immediately to suspend all military support to Israel and stop allowing U.S. arms to fuel war crimes, mass civilian death, and regional collapse. Secretary Rubio’s statement confirms what we already knew — Israel is acting recklessly, and the U.S. is letting it happen.”
CAIR is demanding that the Trump administration:
- Suspend all weapons transfers and military aid to Israel immediately
- Investigate the use of U.S.-supplied weapons in attacks on Iran, Gaza, and neighboring countries
- End its policy of unconditional support for Netanyahu’s government and reassert control over U.S. foreign policy decisions
CAIR warns that without immediate action, the United States risks being drawn into yet another devastating war, while continuing to fund and enable some of the worst violence of the 21st century.
