The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today said President-elect Trump should reject Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s call for him to support the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in Gaza.
Gvir said Thursday that he hoped United States President-elect Donald Trump would promote the entry of Jewish settlers and the emigration of the Palestinian population in Gaza.

Yesterday, CAIR said the Biden administration must end arms shipments to Israel after a new report by Amnesty International, titled “You Feel Like You Are Subhuman’: Israel’s Genocide Against Palestinians in Gaza,” concludes that Israel has committed – and still are committing – genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
In a statement, CAIR said:
“Itamar Ben Gvir is a racist and a terrorist who seems to think that our nation exists to enable his most destructive fantasies. If Ben Gvir and Netanyahu have their way, the Israeli government’s crimes of ethnic cleansing and genocide would continue with U.S. support and the region would continue going up in flames.
“President-elect Trump does not answer to Itamar Ben Gvir or Benjamin Netanyahu. He should put American interests first and reject the Israeli government’s demand that he approve the ethnic cleansing of Gaza.”
He noted that CAIR previously demanded that the Biden administration condemn Ben Gvir’s call for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza.

CAIR also previously condemned Ben Gvir’s call to violate international agreements and the sanctity of the Al Aqsa Mosque compound, one of Islam’s holiest sites.
