The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the Biden administration’s approval of a shipment of over $20 billion in arms to Israel.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday approved the possible sale to Israel of fighter jets and other military equipment worth over $20 billion, the Pentagon said.

In a statement, CAIR National Deputy Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said:
“By approving another massive shipment of arms to the far-right Israeli government, the Biden administration is pouring gasoline on a fire that could engulf millions across the region. The increasingly unhinged Israeli government has demonstrated time and again that it not only intends to continue its brutal genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza, but also to provoke a broader regional war. It’s time for the Biden administration to wake up to reality: the Israeli government is not a rational actor, it is not an ally, and it is trying to drag our nation into an all-out war.”
He noted that earlier today, CAIR condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites, by mobs of Israelis led by Israeli national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and called on the Biden administration to stop enabling this “increasingly radical and openly genocidal” government’s attempts to spark global religious war.
