Two dozen volunteers braved the snow and cold weather to join CAIR and the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Community Initiatives’ Muslim liaison Musa Abdurrahman in assembling 150 brown bag lunches for unhoused people in Baltimore.
“The spirit of selflessness and compassion our dedicated volunteers brought to this project has inspired us to explore more creative ways to give back to the community around us,” said CAIR’s Maryland Outreach Manager Kimberly Syuardi. “Dr. King’s message resonates across racial and religious lines, and we saw that unity reflected in everyone who participated in this Day of Service.”
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
