COMMUNITY ADVISORY: CAIR to Host Ramadan Webinar ‘Unconstitutional Crackdowns: Protecting Your Green Cards, Visas, and Free Speech Rights’ on 3/23

The Council on American-Islamic Relations today announced that it plans to host its annual Ramadan webinar on Sunday, March 23th, at 3:00 pm ET, to share its latest guidance about how vulnerable members of the public can address the Trump administration’s ongoing and escalating attacks on due process, immigrant rights and free speech on Palestine.

During the event, titled, “Unconstitutional Crackdowns: Protecting Your Green Cards, Visas, and Free Speech Rights,” CAIR attorneys and policy experts plan to share new advice about how students, travelers and others threatened by the administration’s policies can take proactive steps to protect their legal rights. CAIR also plans to address the President’s new Muslim Ban if it is announced by March 21st, as some expect based on a deadline the President set when he took office.

“We thank our community members, neighbors and supporters for attending our recent webinars in massive numbers and also for supporting our civil rights work, especially in the month of Ramadan. As the Trump administration escalates its unconstitutional crackdown on the free speech rights of college students, travelers, and immigrants, including lawful permanent residents, our lawyers and policy experts plan to share updated guidance with the community about how to proactively protect their rights. Please join us this weekend to ask questions about our latest guidance and to support our efforts to stand up for the oppressed.”
