Message Being Sent to the Maryland General Assembly: “I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to urge you to co-sponsor and support State Delegate Gabriel Acevero’s forthcoming #CeasefireNow resolution, set to be introduced in the Maryland General Assembly this week. The escalating death toll in Gaza, with over 25,000 Gazans—primarily women and children—indiscriminately killed, demands immediate action. I implore you to reach out to Delegate Acevero’s office and express your support for this crucial resolution to address the devastating loss of innocent lives.”

The crisis in Gaza has hit a devastating milestone, as more than 25,000 Gazans—primarily women and children—have been indiscriminately killed by Israel, employing weaponry supplied by the United States. CAIR acknowledges the gravity of the situation and emphasizes the urgent need for action to address this devastating loss of innocent lives.

According to SolidarityIs, Building Movement Project, and Muslims for Just Futures’ jointly developed Ceasefire Resolution Tracker, 47 similar resolutions have been adopted at the local city council level, in addition to six similar mayoral actions across the nation. The resolution tracker concentrates on resolutions approved by local and state entities throughout the United States, including city councils, commissions, boards, and similar bodies.

Today, CAIR welcomed Senator Chris Van Hollen’s and the Service Employees International Union’s endorsement of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
