The Maryland office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, announced today that it is hosting a community event for volunteers to participate in its ‘MLK Day of Service’ project to package and distribute brown bag lunches for unhoused people in Baltimore City. This year’s event will feature special guest speaker Musa Abdurrahman, the Muslim Community Liaison for the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs.
“We thank our community who signed up to fill the volunteer slots for this Day of Service,” said CAIR’s Maryland Director Zainab Chaudry. “As we honor Dr. King’s legacy, they embody the spirit of compassion and service that he emphasized and championed throughout his life. By modeling this in our daily lives, we create a more inclusive and equitable society for all.”
