Overflow Crowd Attends CAIR Maryland Ramadan Iftar at Diyanet Center

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 4/12/23) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today thanked the overflow crowd that turned out yesterday evening for its Maryland Ramadan Iftar at the Diyanet Center in Lanham, Md.

The Ramadan fast breaking event featured remarks from CAIR leaders and updates about the organization’s civil rights work, including the new 2023 Civil Rights report, “Progress in the Shadow of Prejudice.”

“We thank all those who attended the iftar and those who worked to make it so successful, alhamdulillah (praise be to God),” said CAIR National Deputy Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell.

He added that those who were not able to attend the iftar and donate to support CAIR’s work may donate online at: https://action.cair.com/a/mdiftar

“The Maryland Muslim community once again showed its strong support for CAIR’s civil rights and advocacy work and for making sure the Muslim voice is heard at the state level,” said CAIR Office in Maryland Director Zainab Chaudry.
