On Wednesday, January 28 (7:30 p.m. ET), the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will host a pre-Ramadan webinar, “Ramadan for Students and Parents,” to offer practical tips and guidance for supporting students during Ramadan at home and in school.
This webinar, led by Veronica Laizure, CAIR LDF; Nora Elmubarak, CAIR-NC, and Bismah Jaffer, CAIR-SFBA, will focus on empowering students and families to advocate for their needs during the month of Ramadan and beyond. It will cover students’ rights in and out of the classroom, common accommodations for fasting, and best practices to advocate for yourself and your needs.
CAIR also offers a booklet, called “An Educator’s Guide to Islamic Religious Practices,” designed to help school officials provide a positive learning environment for Muslim students.
