(WASHINGTON, D.C., 12/5/23) – This week, the U.S. Senate faces a critical vote that demands our immediate attention. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has voiced his intention to schedule a vote today or sometime this week on $14 billion in unrestricted military aid to Israel that could profoundly worsen the ongoing crisis in Gaza. Take action now to urge your U.S. Senators to oppose any aid to Netanyahu’s far-right, openly racist and genocidal government – conditional or otherwise – before any legislation is approved and finalized.
Amidst escalating Israeli war crimes in Gaza and alarming human rights violations in the occupied West Bank, it is imperative that we unite in urging our U.S. Senators to stand against any form of further military aid to the Netanyahu government. The recent indiscriminate Israeli military carpet bombing in Gaza, resulting in the loss of over 16,000 lives, including more than 7,000 children, along with the intensifying Israeli military and settler violence targeting Palestinians in the West Bank, demand urgent action and accountability.
CAIR acknowledges Senator Bernie Sanders and concerned voices in Congress for their efforts to question the proposed $14 billion in unrestricted U.S. taxpayer-funded military aid and call for conditions on such aid. However, it’s evident that conditioning aid alone will not prevent further tragic loss of innocent lives. Netanyahu’s government has consistently ignored international resolutions and calls to mitigate civilian casualties.
The provision of unconditional aid risks perpetuating human rights violations. We must implore our Senators to oppose any aid package that does not prioritize the protection of Palestinian lives and human rights.
Take Action Now:
- Contact your Senators: click here to email your Senators urgently, demanding their firm opposition to any form of military aid to the extremist Israeli government in light of the ongoing war crimes in Gaza and escalating violence in the West Bank.
- Spread the Word: Share this urgent call to action within your network to amplify our collective voice for justice and peace in Palestine.
Time is of the essence. Your active participation in this critical moment can significantly impact the Senate’s decision. Together, let’s stand in solidarity to advocate for an equitable and peaceful future for all.
