(WASHINGTON, D.C. 3/22/2023) – Tomorrow, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) plans to join a press conference to be hosted by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) to announce a new resolution on combating Islamophobia. Tomorrow is the first full day of Ramadan. This month marks the anniversary of the Christchurch mosque shootings, terror attacks in New Zealand that took the life of over 50. This year also marked the first annual International Day to Combat Islamophobia, an international observance designated by the United Nations, taking place in 140 countries worldwide.
