Since our founding in 1994, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has worked tirelessly to provide a Muslim voice on local and national issues and to empower American Muslims. Today, CAIR is the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, with chapters in 20 states across the country.

Every day, we work to defend the rights of American Muslims who are facing discrimination and to enhance understanding of Islam so that the misconceptions and prejudice that lead to discrimination decrease.
