150 TURN OUT FOR CAIR-FL ISLAMOPHOBIA SYMPOSIUM
(PEMBROKE PINES, FL, 7/3/07) – More than 150 people turned out Saturday when the Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Florida) and the International Muslim Association at NSU hosted a symposium on Islamophobia.
The speakers at the event were:
* Dr. Robert Pape, ‘Why the War on Terrorism is Heading South’
* Dr. Mohammed Nimer, Islamophobia & Anti-Americanism: An Action Agenda
* Dr. Aisha Musa, Islam in the popular media: The problem of pseudo-scholarship and misinformation
Special guests included Louis Wexler, Vice Mayor of Broward County, who offered the welcome address; the Florida Commission on Human Relations; the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and several others. Three professors from Nova University brought their entire classes to the event.
