(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 6/9/2017) – – On Saturday, June 10th, the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN), the largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will hold several anti-hate events to challenge the hate promoted by ACT for America’s anti-Sharia protest.
First Event:
WHAT: Counter demonstration
WHEN: Saturday, June 10th, 11:00 a.m.
WHERE: Minnesota State Capitol, 75 Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, St Paul, MN 55155
Second Event:
WHAT: Dawaha event – open mosque open dialogue: protesters are welcome to come tour and have questions answered.
WHEN: Saturday, June 10th, immediately following the counter demonstration
WHERE: The mosque is located 5 blocks from the capitol, Minnesota Dawah Institute, 478 University Ave W, St Paul, MN 55103
Third Event:
WHAT: Unity Iftar – a breaking fast Ramadan dinner for the entire community
WHEN: Saturday, June 10th, 8:00 to 10:00 pm
WHERE: 504 Cedar Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55454 (in the patio section of the Cedar Cultural Center)
