Nihad Awad visits Syrian refugee camp in Jordan before traveling to Doha
(WASHINGTON, D.C., 6/11/13) — Nihad Awad, national executive director the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is participating in the 10th U.S.-Islamic World Forum, which concludes today in Doha, Qatar.
Awad was part of the “Diplomacy and Religion” working group at the annual forum, which is attended by world political and religious leaders and seeks to provide an “opportunity to strengthen the formal dialogue between the West and the Muslim world.”
Before traveling to Qatar, Awad visited Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan, which houses almost 200,000 people who fled the Syrian regime's brutal attacks on those seeking freedom and justice.
