(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 6/30/2016) – Later today, the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) will hold a news conference to call on the Minneapolis Police Department and the FBI to investigate a possible bias motive for a Wednesday shooting in which the attacker allegedly made disparaging remarks about Muslims before opening fire.
The Muslim victims, who were dressed in Islamic attire, were reportedly attacked as they headed to a mosque to perform nightly Ramadan prayers. Two of the Muslim men targeted by the shooter were treated at a local hospital and then released. The incident is not currently being investigated as a hate crime.
