Mississippi Man Charged with Hate Crime for Allegedly Burning Cross to Intimidate Black Family

“We welcome the hate crime charge by federal authorities for this alleged act of racist intimidation and believe it will send a message to others who may contemplate turning their bigoted views into threatening actions,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper.

He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
