7,000+ Americans Urge Their Members of Congress to Seek Ceasefire, Address the Root Cause of Mideast Violence

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 10/11/2023) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today reported that more than 7,000 Americans have so far used CAIR’s action alert to contact their members of Congress, call for an end to the ongoing violence that is taking the lives of Palestinian and Israeli civilians, and call for the renewal of U.S.-led efforts to secure a permanent peace by ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands.

“We must stop this horrific violence, which is threatening and taking the lives of Palestinian and Israeli civilians every day. We call upon Congress to endorse an immediate ceasefire and leverage its influence to advocate for a just and enduring peace that brings the occupation to an end and respects the rights and dignity of all people in the region,” said CAIR Director of Government Affairs Department Robert S. McCaw.
