In the release linked above, event organizers outline several actions supporters can take on February 1 including the following: wearing a hijab, amplifying awareness for World Hijab Day by sharing the campaign’s graphics across social media platforms, hosting a World Hijab Day (WHD) community event, or encouraging inclusivity and acceptance in your community by speaking out against discrimination or stereotypes related to hijab.
Internationally, Muslim face enormous hardship in Palestine, India, China, and France among far too many other places. Domestically, we just reported that in the October – December period in 2023, we received 3,578 complaints, a huge wave of Islamophobia resulting in a 178 percent increase in incoming complaints over a similar period in 2022.
