On Wednesday, Feb. 21, the Arizona chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-AZ), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, and its partner organizations plan to hold a press conference at the state capitol to urge lawmakers to oppose HB2759 as a threat to freedom of speech and for unfairly singling out pro-Palestinian student groups.
HB2759 also generates hateful rhetoric amid widespread Palestinian casualties, fails to humanize Palestinians and promotes Islamophobic and anti-Palestinian sentiment reminiscent of post-9/11 era.
