The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed Canada’s decision to halt future arms sales to Israel and called on the Biden administration to take a similar “principled action” as the far-right Israeli government carries out a campaign of ethnic cleansing, forced-starvation and genocide in Gaza.
In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“We welcome Canada’s principled action in ending future arms sales to Israel’s far-right genocidal government and urge the Biden administration to similarly end its military and political support for the ongoing forced-starvation, ethnic cleansing and genocide in Gaza.
“Americans can and should pressure this complicit administration to put human concerns above the interest of a rogue and criminal state.”
