On Monday, April 29, the California chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CA) will host its 13th Annual Muslim Day at the Capitol (MDAC) program, where over 450 participants are expected to attend.
The daylong MDAC program will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will provide attendees from across California with the opportunity to meet with state legislators and staff to discuss issues of concern and advocate for the following CAIR-CA-sponsored bills.

- AB-2763: Mandates the inclusion of a “Middle Eastern or North African” category in demographic data collected by state agencies, boards, and commissions.
- Resolution Condemning Islamophobia and Palestinian Hate: Denounces the surge in Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian discrimination in California, acknowledging the state’s commitment to religious freedom and cultural diversity.
The program will also include a press conference at 12:30 p.m., featuring Assemblymembers Luz Rivas and Bill Essayli, authors of AB-2377 and AB-2763, respectively.
