On Tuesday, July 2, the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) will hold a press conference in response to the recent decision by the Lino Lakes City Council regarding the Madina Lakes project.
On Monday, July 1, during a work session, the Lino Lakes City Council made a motion to halt the due process for the Madina Lakes project to be heard on its conceptual plan. In a narrow 3-2 vote, the council decided to table and therefore reject the proposal, effectively stopping its progress.
This decision was made despite the fact that a moratorium vote has not yet passed in the city, which is expected to be voted on July 8. Despite city staff and one city council member opposing the measure, the city for the first time stopped an applicant concept plan review.
