Ahmed sustained severe injuries, including the loss of both legs, on February 16, 2024, when Israel bombed the farm where he, his brother, and a friend were outside walking. His friend was killed, and both he and his brother were injured. Dr. Mohammad Subeh, who returned last Friday from his second medical mission in Gaza, administered life-saving medical treatment to Ahmed.

At Shriner’s Hospital, Ahmed will receive prosthetic legs, rehabilitation, and treatment for hand, head, and abdomen injuries. His treatment in Sacramento is expected to last approximately four months.

Ahmed’s travel and medical care are generously sponsored by the humanitarian organization HEAL Palestine, which arranges free medical care for injured and needy children from Gaza. Ahmed is the 16th child that HEAL Palestine has brought to the US for medical treatment.

HEAL Palestine representatives and Dr. Subeh will be available to answer questions from the media.
