The Texas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-TX) today welcomed the indictment of the suspect in the attempted drowning of a 3-year-old Palestinian-American Muslim child in a public pool in Dallas.
Elizabeth Wolf, the woman accused of trying to drown a Palestinian-American child at a North Texas apartment pool in May, has been indicted by a grand jury on the charges of attempted capital murder of a person under 10 and injury to a child. The indictment includes a hate crime enhancement.

In a statement, CAIR-Dallas Fort Worth Executive Director Mustafaa Carroll said:
“We welcome the indictment of the suspected perpetrator of this horrific crime. Any crime against a child must be treated with the utmost seriousness and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. We stand in solidarity with the family and pray that God grants them solace and justice.”
He noted that CAIR-TX previously welcomed the suspect’s arrest.
Earlier this year, CAIR released new civil rights data showing that it has received 3,578 complaints during the last three months of 2023 amid an ongoing wave of anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian hate.
