The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today said the Biden administration must end its complicity with the Israeli government’s genocide against Palestinians after a UN report said 70 percent of the dead in Gaza are women and children.
The United Nations human rights office (OHCHR) on Friday condemned the number of civilians killed in Israel’s war in Gaza, with women and children comprising nearly 70 percent of the thousands of fatalities it had managed to verify. Israel has slaughtered more than 43,000 people in Gaza. More than 100,000 have been wounded. The number of dead is likely much higher, with thousands buried in the rubble.

In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“One has to wonder how President Biden and the members of his outgoing administration can sleep at night while knowing they are facilitating the mass murder of so many innocent women and children on a daily basis. The American people – including many voters who made their voices heard by voting or staying home on Tuesday – are demanding an end to U.S. support for Israel’s genocidal campaign of slaughter and starvation in Gaza. It’s long past time for President Biden to stop doing the bidding of Benjamin Netanyahu and start listening to the American people.”
Yesterday, CAIR questioned the Biden administration’s inaction after the far-right Israeli government reportedly confirmed its ethnic cleansing of northern Gaza.
