CAIR Says World Must Demand Entry of Aid to N. Gaza After Report that Israel Denies Food to 130,000 Children Under 10

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today said the international community must demand that the far-right Israeli government allow food and other aid to reach those suffering under the Netanyahu government’s genocidal campaign of forced starvation in northern Gaza, including denying food to some 130,000 children under 10.

Save the Children says, “130,000 children aged under 10 have been trapped for 50 days in areas in northern Gaza that are almost entirely inaccessible to aid workers and not receiving food or medical supplies despite warnings of famine.”

According to that humanitarian aid organization: “Children living in North Gaza and Gaza governates have been almost completely cut off from supplies of food, water, and medicine since 6 October 2024 when Israeli forces declared the area to be a closed military zone, with the independent Famine Review Committee (FRC) saying that famine is either imminent or likely already occurring in the area.”

Earlier this month, CAIR said that it considers President Biden a “war criminal” after his decision to continue sending weapons to the Israeli government after it flouted Biden’s 30-day deadline to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.

In a statement, CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper said:

“Because the Biden administration steadfastly refuses to apply any real pressure on the genocidal Israeli government to allow food to be delivered to those being intentionally starved in northern Gaza, including some 130,000 children under age 10, it is up to the international community to take concrete action.

“While our nation’s government has abdicated any role in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people under a systematic campaign of mass destruction, slaughter, ethnic cleansing and forced starvation, other nations can take actions such as economic sanctions, arms embargoes and arrests of Israeli war criminals.”

He noted that today, CAIR called on the State Department to bar the indicted fugitive war criminal and former Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant from his planned entry to the United States next week.

Gallant previously stated: “We are putting a complete siege on Gaza…No electricity, no food, no water, no gas – it’s all closed.”
