On Tuesday, March 11th, the Maryland office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will be available to answer questions regarding House Bill 1460 Boycott of Foreign Countries, which it is joining interfaith coalition partners to testify in favor of at a bill hearing beginning at 1pm in the Maryland General Assembly.

Sponsored by Delegate Caylin Young et al, House Bill 1460 aims to prohibit the State of Maryland from requiring companies that bid for state contracts to certify that they are boycotting a foreign country. An action alert in favor of this legislation has delivered nearly 10,000 emails to lawmakers urging them to pass it.
This bill was among the Maryland Muslim Lobby Day legislative priorities.
