The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today updated its recently-released “Travel and Free Speech Guidance Under the Trump Administration” due to continued concerns about travel and free speech issues.
Based on recent reports, CAIR added answers to the question: “What device precautions can I take before I travel?”

The guidance summary answers other questions such as:
- Should I travel overseas?
- What about if I must travel?
- Should I participate in protests?
- Can Customs and Border Protection (CBP) force me to unlock my phone?
It is divided into sections for citizens and non-citizens.
