CAIR Offer Condolences on Passing of Rahaman Ali, Younger Brother of Muhammad Ali

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today offered condolences on the passing of Rahaman Ali, the younger brother of legendary boxer and global humanitarian Muhammad Ali.

Rahaman Ali died Friday evening at the age of 82.

In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Rahaman Ali, a man who stood with his brother in the fight for justice. While Muhammad Ali captured the world’s attention, Rahaman Ali offered steadfast support and built his own legacy as a man of faith, an athlete and an author. We pray that God grants him the highest level of Paradise and brings comfort to the Ali family and all who knew and loved him. To God we belong, and to Him we return.”

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
