CAIR ACTION ALERT: Tell Congress to Support Maximum Sanctions on Sudan’s Genocidal RSF and Arms Embargo on UAE

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today encouraged all Americans to urge their members of Congress to express support for imposing maximum sanctions on Sudan’s genocidal Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and an arms embargo on its alleged funder, the United Arab Emirates.

CAIR’s call for Congress to support these steps follows the UAE-backed RSF’s massacres of civilians in Sudan on El Fashr, the latest in a long line of crimes against humanity.

Contact your members of Congress today and urge them to take decisive action to end the RSF’s reign of terror, hold its backers accountable, and support a stable, representative Sudan where civilians can live in peace and dignity.

Tell Congress to express support for:

  • Imposing maximum possible sanctions on the RSF and its leadership.
  • Imposing an arms embargo on the United Arab Emirates and any other nation found to be arming or funding the RSF.
  • Lifting all U.S. sanctions on the Sudanese Army (SAF) and calling on it to establish a clear path to establishing a representative government in Sudan.

The RSF, a paramilitary militia implicated in mass killings, ethnic cleansing, and racist attacks on Black Sudanese refugees, continues to receive alleged support from the UAE, Israel, and other U.S. allies despite existing sanctions. In recent months, RSF forces have carried out drone strikes on mosques and power stations, burned displacement camps, and executed civilians and aid workers in Darfur and Port Sudan.
