The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the vandalism of a synagogue in Montgomery County, Maryland.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington was defaced with graffiti including a swastika on Tuesday. A sign with the slogan “hate has no home here” was also defaced. Synagogue leaders said they are in close contact with law enforcement following the incident.

“Defacing a house of worship with symbols of hate is a despicable crime that must be condemned by all people of conscience,” said CAIR’s Maryland Advisory Board Member Damani Ingram. “We stand in solidarity against all forms of hate.”
CAIR recently condemned hateful graffiti targeting Palestinians and Muslims discovered at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda.
