Today, the Maryland office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the IMAN Network will host the 2026 Maryland Muslim Lobby Day at the Maryland House of Delegates in Annapolis.
This year’s Lobby Day will mark a historic milestone with the official launch of the Maryland Legislative Muslim Caucus aimed at strengthening civic engagement, advancing equitable public policy, and amplifying the priorities of Maryland’s diverse Muslim communities.
Muslim community members, coalition partners, students, faith leaders, and advocates will gather to meet with legislators and advocate for a broad legislative agenda centered on civil rights, education equity, youth justice reform, voting protections, immigrant rights, and ethical stewardship of public resources.

The event will highlight support for specific bills addressing student privacy protections, juvenile justice reform, anti-bullying standards, voting protections, immigrant safeguards, and ethical public pension investments.
The launch of the Maryland Legislative Muslim Caucus reflects the growing civic engagement and policy leadership of Maryland’s Muslim community. The caucus will serve as a platform for collaboration between lawmakers and community stakeholders to advance policies rooted in justice, equity, and constitutional protections.
As Muslim communities continue to face challenges ranging from discrimination to policy exclusion, this initiative underscores a commitment to ensuring their voices are meaningfully represented in the legislative process.
