The Maryland office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) announced today that registration has opened for its annual Muslim Youth Day at the Capitol #MYDAC 2026, a statewide civic engagement program that aims to empower young Muslim leaders.
Held at the Maryland House of Delegates, this free, full-day event is sponsored by the Legislative Muslim Caucus Chair and State Delegate Sean Stinnett. It is open to youth ages 11–19, and is designed to equip participants with the tools to understand government, engage with lawmakers, and build skills to advocate effectively for their communities.
This year’s theme, “Built Different: Purpose & Power Over Pressure,” focuses on cultivating identity, resilience, and principled leadership in the face of today’s challenging political climate and domestic and global crises.
Participants will tour the State House, hear from keynote speaker Imam Mustafa Brent of Masjid Ul Haqq in Baltimore City, as well as CAIR’s Maryland Director Zainab Chaudry, Delegate Stinnett, Muslim staffers and educational experts.
