The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, is encouraging eligible voters in Washington, D.C., Alabama, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and other jurisdictions holding primary elections today to make their voices heard at the ballot box.

Today’s elections will help determine candidates for several key federal, state, and local offices, including U.S. Senate, gubernatorial, congressional, and mayoral races. In Washington, D.C., voters will also participate in the city’s first election using ranked-choice voting following voter approval of the system in 2024.
“Voting is both a civic responsibility and a powerful tool for advancing justice, protecting civil rights, and ensuring that elected officials are responsive to the needs of all communities,” said CAIR Government Affairs Department Director Robert S. McCaw. “We encourage every eligible voter to participate in today’s elections and make their voices heard.”
