The Council on American-Islamic Relations, the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights organization, called Sarsour’s release “long overdue” in a news release.

Nihad Awad, the group’s national executive director, celebrated Sarsour’s release and called on ICE to “end disturbing pattern of targeting Muslim, Palestinian, and other community members for detention and intimidation.”
