Muslim and civil liberties organizations are calling for a congressional investigation into a news report that surveillance records on California mosques were illegally obtained by a group of Marine reservists at Camp Pendleton.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations and the ACLU of Southern California were among organizations on Wednesday who asked senators on the Judiciary Committee to investigate allegations that military reservists and law enforcement officers stole the data from a federal surveillance center at the base.
