The Council on American-Islamic Relations wants to change the perception you might have of most of the people in its community.
Instead of terrorists and extremists, the council is trying to educate the public that most American Muslims are peaceful and very much like you.
So they’re reaching out to journalists, announcing on Tuesday they’re sending these guides to understanding Islam and Muslims.
Karen Dabdoub of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said, “We also recognize that much of the negative perceptions of Islamic Muslims comes from the negative actions of a tiny minority of Muslims. But this fact should not distract from the vast majority of Muslims who reject terrorism and religious extremism.”
The announcement was made not only in Cincinnati, but throughout the country.
