Muslims from across Metro Atlanta came together Sunday, offering special prayers for rain. The prayer, called salat, was said at seven local mosques and Muslim gathering places in four area counties.

Last month, Governor Purdue and religious leaders from several faiths prayed at the Capitol for rain. That service was criticized by some as violating the line between church and state.

WSB Stormtracker meteorolist Brad Nitz forecast for Sunday was “cloudy with a chance of rain Sunday evening and overnight. Strong winds will blow in much colder and drier air Monday.”
