Praying five times a day is the norm for Muslims, but Friday’s noon prayer called Jumuah is special. Around the globe, Muslims attend mosque for a 40-minute sermon and service at midday Fridays for this ritual prayer. It’s an expression of submission to God and unity in Islam.
Our prophet, Mohammad, emphasized the importance of Fridays by revealing to his early followers that Adam was created on a Friday, that Adam entered Paradise on a Friday, that he was expelled from Paradise on a Friday, and finally, that the archangel Israfil would sound a horn signaling the Day of Judgment on a Friday.
