Join the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in demanding the White House and State Department enforce U.S. laws that mandate the immediate suspension of military assistance to the Israeli government in response to its ongoing genocide in Gaza and recent attacks in Lebanon, which have slaughtered over 550 people, including many women and children.

CAIR has also called for an urgent arms embargo, citing reports of a proposed Israeli “extermination zone” in Gaza, where remaining civilians would either face starvation or be targeted by U.S. weapons. According to CNN, Giora Eiland, a retired Israeli military general, described the plan in a video, stating, “Those who leave will receive food and water, but in a week, the entire northern Gaza Strip will become military territory, and as far as we are concerned, no supplies will enter it.”
This call to action follows CAIR’s August alert, which highlighted how Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism shape U.S. policy in the Middle East, including its support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza—an acknowledgment shared with CAIR by two former Biden administration Muslim officials who resigned in protest of the Gaza genocide.
CAIR insists that President Biden and Vice President Harris must listen to American voices of conscience rather than continue to violate U.S. law or compromise American values. The administration must uphold laws prohibiting the transfer of military weaponry to Israel to prevent further Israeli war crimes in Gaza and Lebanon.
In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“An immediate arms embargo on the far-right Israeli government is urgently needed to prevent American taxpayer-funded weapons from being used in the latest slaughter in Lebanon or in the ongoing genocide in Gaza, which now reportedly includes an ‘extermination zone’ where all remaining civilians face death.”
Earlier this week, CAIR called on President Biden to take action against the “out-of-control” far-right government of Benjamin Netanyahu, after Israel once again slaughtered Palestinian children in Gaza.
Israel’s genocide in Gaza has already resulted in the killing of at least 41,272 Palestinians, including 16,795 children and 11,378 women. Most Gazans have been forced from their homes, which were then destroyed in an Israeli campaign of mass destruction and ethnic cleansing.
