CAIR Calls for International Action After Israel Admits Ethnic Cleansing in West Bank

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called for immediate international action after the far-right government of indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that 40,000 Palestinians have been ethnically-cleansed from several refugee camps in the occupied West Bank.

Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz said Sunday that the 40,000 Palestinians had been “evacuated” from the Jenin, Tul Karm and Nur al-Shams refugee camps in the West Bank and will be prevented from returning to their homes. Israel had repeatedly denied the claims of 40,000 Palestinians being forced from their homes, despite reports in international media and other outlets.

Earlier this month, CAIR called for an end to the ethnic cleansing being conducted by Israeli forces in the West Bank.

In a statement, CAIR said:

“When officials of a genocidal government openly brag of ethnic cleansing of occupied populations, it is time for the international community to take immediate action to protect those who are targeted by open and admitted crimes against humanity. Our own government must also take steps to stop Israel’s war crimes, which are being committed on a daily basis using American taxpayer-supplied weapons and with U.S. political support.”

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
