The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today said that Israel’s mass bombing of civilians in Gaza and the total blockade of humanitarian aid constitutes a “restart of the genocide,” and called on President Trump to rein in the Netanyahu regime.
Israel murdered at least 21 people in its attacks, A journalist was reportedly assassinated in the Israeli attacks – one of hundreds of media professionals killed by Israel in Gaza.
In a statement, Washington, D.C., based CAIR said:
“Since the start of the ceasefire, the Netanyahu regime has been itching to fully restart the genocide in Gaza. Now it’s using whatever incident took place in Israeli-occupied Rafah, which local journalists report was an Israeli demolition crew injuring itself on unexploded ordinance, as an excuse to do so. The cruel and unnecessary mass bombing of civilians across Gaza constitutes a blatant violation of President Trump’s ceasefire agreement and a resumption of the genocide. President Trump must rein in the Israeli occupation forces and stop sending American weapons and American taxpayer dollars to fund Israel’s war machine.”
Yesterday, CAIR called the Israeli occupation’s massacre of a family in Gaza as its “latest blatant ceasefire violation” and called on President Trump to demand an end to these steadily increasing attacks.
CAIR also today called on the State Department and the United Nations to investigate multiple reports of evidence of torture on the bodies of Palestinian detainees returned to Gaza.
Last week, CAIR said that the Trump administration must hold the Israeli government accountable for trying to “sabotage” the Gaza ceasefire agreement by killing seven Palestinians, limiting the entry of food and other humanitarian aid, and banning fuel.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
