Classified Israeli data shows Palestinian civilians being slaughtered ‘at a rate with few parallels in modern warfare’
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on members of Congress to recognize Israel’s obvious and documented genocide in Gaza after data from an secret Israeli intelligence database shows that least 83 percent of Palestinians slaughtered in Gaza were civilians – not combatants.
According to an Israeli media outlet +972 Magazine:
“Figures obtained from the classified database — which records the deaths of militants from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) — contradict by a huge margin the public statements of Israeli army and government officials throughout the war, which have generally claimed a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio of civilian to militant casualties. Instead, the classified data backs up the findings of severalstudiessuggesting Israel’s bombardment of Gaza has killed civilians at a rate with few parallels in modern warfare.”
The Guardian reports: “That apparent ratio of civilians to combatants among the dead is extremely high for modern warfare, even compared with conflicts notorious for indiscriminate killing, including the Syrian and Sudanese civil wars.”
“This newly-revealed secret Israeli data confirms what human rights organizations, journalists, and survivors have been saying all along: the Israeli government has been carrying out a mass slaughter of civilians in Gaza with impunity and with U.S. complicity,” said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad. “This is not collateral damage — it is calculated, industrial-scale slaughter. Congress can no longer hide behind Israeli propaganda. The time to recognize this genocide is now. Silence is complicity.”
CAIR is calling on all members of Congress to:
- Publicly acknowledge the mass killing of Palestinian civilians as genocide.
- Demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
- Halt all U.S. military aid and arms transfers to the Israeli government.
- Support international investigations into war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Earlier today, CAIR condemned the “Israel First” firing of Shahed Ghoreishi, the State Department’s top press officer for Israeli-Palestinian affairs. over how to characterize Trump administration policies, including a controversial plan for ethnic cleansing of Gaza.
