The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on the Trump administration to drop its backing of the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” (GHF) after a report that Israeli forces admit being ordered to fire on starving civilians attempting to access food concentration points.
Israeli officers and soldiers told Haaretz they were ordered to fire at unarmed crowds near food distribution sites in Gaza, even when no threat was present. The report, based on direct conversations with multiple Israeli military personnel, details how live ammunition, mortars, grenade launchers, and tanks have routinely been used against unarmed crowds seeking humanitarian aid.
Doctors Without Borders has called for the food distribution program to be halted, saying it is “slaughter masquerading as humanitarian aid.” Israel has slaughtered more than 500 people desperately seeking food in recent weeks.

The Trump administration recently said it will give $30 million in funding to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“The Trump administration must withdraw all U.S. support for the Israeli government’s ‘killing fields’ at the aid concentration sites in Gaza. These confessions by Israeli soldiers confirm what has been apparent for weeks – the Israeli government is using food as bait to massacre starving civilians in Gaza. This kind of evil must be stopped. Our nation must end its support for the mass slaughter, forced starvation and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.”
He noted that today, six people were killed by Israeli forces near a Gaza Humanitarian Foundation aid point north of Rafah.
