(OTTAWA, CANADA – 04/03/2005) – The Canadian Council on American-Islamic
Relations (CAIR-CAN) today offered condolences to the RCMP and the families
of the four Alberta RCMP officers who were killed yesterday during an
investigation of a marijuana growing operation near Mayerthorpe, Alberta.
In its letter sent to RCMP Commissioner Giuliano Zaccardelli, CAIR-CAN wrote:
“No words can describe the sadness and grief generated by the deaths of so
many brave and dedicated RCMP officers.
“We offer our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the
“Canadian Muslims recognize the important sacrifices that RCMP officers
make everyday in serving and protecting Canadians.”
