The Chicago chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution of antisemitic propaganda in bags that reportedly included a substance with the “appearance of rat poison.”
Flyers, which included a website linked to the antisemitic Goyim Defense League, were reportedly distributed in Lincoln Park.
In a statement, CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab said:
“We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community as it is targeted by antisemitic hate. All Americans, whatever their faith or background, must repudiate bigotry in all its ugly forms.”
He noted that yesterday, CAIR’s Greater Los Angeles Area office condemned the antisemitic, Nazi graffiti found throughout Santa Monica, Calif., over the weekend.
Rehab said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
