CAIR-LA Condemns Antisemitic, Nazi Graffiti Found Across Santa Monica

The Greater Los Angeles Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA) today condemned the antisemitic, Nazi graffiti found throughout Santa Monica, Calif., over the weekend.

SEE:

Residents reported swastikas and antisemitic messages marked on sidewalks, street signs, buildings, trees, and other areas around the city. The incident was reported to the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD), who removed or painted over much of the graffiti.

Residents in the Pico Boulevard neighborhood decided to cover some of the graffiti with hearts, flowers, and butterflies using chalk.

In a statement, CAIR-LA Executive Director Hussam Ayloush said:

“Hate of any form must not be tolerated in our communities, and we strongly condemn this blatant display of antisemitism. The Jewish community deserves to feel safe in their own homes, and these appalling actions infringe on that right to safety. We applaud the SMPD for their prompt response in investigating this incident and look forward to justice being served.”
